Pioneering coffee roasters George Howell Coffee today announce the official opening of the Downtown Crossing café located inside our ground-level lobby. Accessible to locals and hotel guests alike, George Howell Coffee at The Godfrey features a wide range of sophisticated yet inviting coffee experiences, such as an espresso bar, hand-poured single estate and micro lot coffee servings, and public cuppings. Later this summer, the café will offer coffee-tasting “flights,” specialty coffee-based creations, coffee brewer calibration clinic, group education coffee classes, and much more.
George Howell Coffee at The Godfrey is open daily 6:30 a.m. – 8 p.m., offering pairings for its estate coffees with a wide selection of pastries, toast tartines, and both breakfast and lunch sandwiches all made or sourced from local artisans or farms. In the evening, George Howell Coffee at The Godfrey offers fine French tarts and desserts from Praliné Artisanal Confections. The café is poised to offer expanded hours in the coming weeks for after-theater and dinner guests.
George Howell Coffee at The Godfrey offers a full retail section with a wide range of coffee brewing equipment on display and available for purchase, as well as an extensive range of retail coffee beans from farms across the world chosen for their quality and distinction. In this and all locations, George Howell Coffee is an expansion upon George Howell’s pioneering café collection The Coffee Connection in the early 1990’s with an esthetic environment combining contemporary art along with state of art coffee equipment producing exceptional coffee beverages.
For our guests looking to further immerse themselves in the thriving coffee culture in the heart of Boston, The Godfrey For Coffee Connoisseur package is available for booking beginning Monday, June 20.
