George Jordan
Area General Manager

George Jordan Godfrey Hotel Chicago

George Jordan is the Area General Manager overseeing the Godfrey Hotel Chicago property and is Senior Vice President of Operations, Oxford Hotels & Resorts.

Jordan has worked in hotels for 30 years including The Arizona Biltmore, The St. Paul, The Marquette, The Drake and The Raffaello Hotel.  Mr. Jordan rose through the ranks while attending college at University of Southern California and Arizona State University, where he obtained a B.S. in Finance.  George has served as Area Food and Beverage Director for Hilton International, based out of The Drake Hotel Chicago and also as Hotel Manager at The Drake.

More recently, he worked with the development team to purchase The Raphael Hotel and convert it to an independent 4 star boutique condominium hotel.  Jordan joined the Oxford team in 2009 as Area General Manager where he oversees The Hotel Felix, The Hotel Cass and the soon to be opened boutique hotel, The Godfrey Hotel, at 127 W. Huron St at N LaSalle.  He also contributes his extensive operational, revenue management and marketing expertise to Oxford’s national acquisition activities.

Jordan is a well-respected leader and a member of many Chicago civic organizations including the Greater North Michigan Avenue Association, Chicago Convention and Tourism Bureau and DLC.  He also recently joined the board of Lawson House YMCA.

Jermaine Anderson

Hotel Manager

Jermaine Anderson oversees the day-to-day operations, marketing and sales, and will manage a team of around 100 employees for the 221-room independent hotel.

Anderson has extensive hotel management experience and most recently served as the general manager at the Raffaello Hotel in Chicago. He joined that opening team in 2006 as director of operations and was promoted to general manager in 2010. While there, he oversaw a $1.1 million build out and opening of the hotel’s rooftop bar, Drum Bar. Prior to his career with the Raffaello Hotel in Chicago, Anderson worked with several Hyatt properties.

We are fortunate to have him leading our team as we prepare for a successful opening next summer.”

Adam Schomaker, CMP
Director of Sales and Marketing

After a nationwide search, Adam Schomaker, CMP, was selected as Director of Sales and Marketing. He will oversee the hotel’s sales, public relations, marketing, social media and revenue streams at the 221-room l independent hotel owned by Oxford 127 Huron Hotel Venture Property Company, LLC, an Oxford Capital Group, LLC-led venture with Cube Capital.

“Adam’s solid hospitality experience complemented by his entrepreneurial ventures in the customer engagement arena made him the top candidate for this important role at The Godfrey Hotel Chicago. He will be a great asset in developing and implementing innovative strategies and initiatives to help build The Godfrey Hotel into an internationally recognized brand,” said Jordan.

Schomaker brings 14 years of sales and service industry experience to The Godfrey Hotel Chicago. Most recently, he served as regional sales manager for the Amway Hotel Corporation, including representation for a portfolio of hotels including the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel, JW Marriott Grand Rapids, Courtyard by Marriott Downtown Grand Rapids and the Peter Island Resort and Spa on Peter Island in the British Virgin Islands.

He is an active member of Meeting Planners International and a regular blog contributor for the meeting and events industry. In 2012, he was honored by industry peers as one of Collinson Media’s Connect Marketplace 40 under 40 in 2012. He studied hotel and restaurant management at Northwood University and earned his Certified Meetings Professional designation in 2011.

Matthew McCahill
F & B Director

Matthew McCahill has joined The Godfrey Hotel Chicago’s growing team of hospitality experts as director of food and beverage.  In his new role, McCahill will oversee food and beverage for the exceptional meeting and event space and he will also use his originality and formula for success to create a top new nightlife destination with I|O Urban Roofscape, the fourth floor venue.

“Matt has the instinct and vision we sought for this incredible new space and hotel. He has a proven ability to create distinguished venues and top quality food and beverage establishments and a keen focus on financial success, and we’re pleased to have him join our talented team,” says Anderson.

During McCahill’s impressive 25-year career, he has worked alongside notables including Emeril Lagasse, Wolfgang Puck, and Nick Nicholas in fine dining restaurants and hotels from Las Vegas and Los Angeles to Chicago. Most recently, McCahill served as food and beverage director for the Dana Hotel & Spa, where the property’s rooftop bar was named one of the top three hotel bars in the country for the past two years by Nightlife & Bar Magazine, and one of the top ten high profile bars in Chicago. While there, he also concepted, designed, built and launched the Bartenders Booth, a private cocktail tasting table and industry first. His experience also includes key management roles at Mondrian Hotel-Asia De Cuba and SBE Group’s Prey Supper Club in L.A., to Bella Lounge and Restaurant in Chicago. He also served as managing partner at Soiree/Prost before joining the Sax Hotel’s Crimson Lounge as general manager.

  1. I stayed at the Godfrey Hotel September 1st and booked via The experience was a nightmare. Upon my check in the attendant swiped my card without my authorization three times, which led to my account being at a 0.00 balance. As a result, my bank had to be called and told began working with your front desk manager Sade.

    She took no responsibility for your attendant’s mistake. The attendant raised his voice at me and was very unprofessional and definitely did not embody any form of quality customer service. My check in was over a hour and thirty minutes.

    Then, at check out, another attendant charged me yet again for the room which was 163.14, so Sade comped my whole stay. It was my birthday and my entire birthday experience was ruined. I will never get that day back, , however, I hope someone will be able to rectify the excruciating experience I had to endure because the staff at the front desk, clearly were not trained correctly.

    I am an avid Yelp, and trip advisor surveyor.
